My interest in alternative therapies began when I earned a Master’s degree from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California, in a program that was the first to combine the study of Clinical Psychology with self-observation in class group process, psycho-physical development in the martial art of Aikido, spiritual explorations in many religious traditions, and participation in a cohesive school community. This stimulated my interest in self-development and healing, and led to years of psychological work on myself and with others while I worked as an artist, graphic and web designer.
In 2004, I began research for a website which provides serious resources for women over fifty, UnconventionalWoman.com. I read hundreds of books and reams of online material to find thoughtful insights on self-exploration, life choices facing women, and alternative health options. In the course of my research, I was amazed to discover the degree to which research and practice in energy systems and energy therapies had developed. After experiencing the best of traditional psychotherapy for years as a client, discovering the dramatic results possible in a relatively short time with EFT was a revelation to me, and I pursued training in EFT and other energy interventions and intuitive modalities.
Contrary to most therapies, where the therapist leads the client in the direction which he or she perceives the client needs to go, Meridian Tapping techniques follow the energy of the client. Working intuitively with clients has taught me to respect the profound but often inaccessible self-knowledge that we each contain. Each session reinforces my appreciation of MTT for so gently and effectively evoking that healing wisdom of the body.
I have personally found the way MTT works to erase blocks and distortions in the energy system to be effective for allowing my own body to invoke its own healing capacity to stop vertigo episodes, prevent twisted ankles from developing into a sprain, heal stubbed toes. With clients, MTT has stopped burns from developing, prevented injuries from falls, and alleviated headaches and muscle and joint pain. Clients have cleared, among other things, rape trauma, fear of the dark, fear of heights, early birth trauma, fear of going down stairs, fear of speaking in public, anxiety attacks, difficult parental relationships, excessive worry and guilt, inability to confront authority figures, triggers for low self-esteem, and anger or grief over loss of relationship.
Consistent use of MTT over time typically results in a great variety of both subtle and dramatic effects for most people, increasing confidence, serenity, self-acceptance, work performance, and creative ability.
